Ever since I have learned about If It Fits Your Macros I have loved being able to track them. I have the freedom to eat what I want, as long as it fits in my macros. Many of you may be wondering, what are Macros?
Macros are a way to count your carbs, fats and protein intake. There is a certain number, depending on body type that you need to hit. For me, I am trying to loose weight, so I have a lower fat intake and a higher protein intake. My macros are roughly 20% fat, 40% carbs and 40% protein. I tend to use Lose It to keep track. They make it so easy to be able to scan food labels and to search for food found at your favorite restaurants.
Can I do this in College?
YES! It is totally doable. I mean, I am doing it and I am a college student. I have managed to loose about 18 lbs since New Years. It just takes dedication, but you can do it! I bring my lunch to school everyday, packing healthy food like apples, oranges, sandwiches, protein shakes, grapes, carrots. Anything that I can easily bring, that doesn’t need to really be refrigerated and I can eat while in class. I prep my lunch before I go to class, it takes me about three minutes. Three minutes is all it takes to eat healthy for a day!
